Welcome to UMobility: NEC UNIVERGE SV8100 Mobile Extension

To stay coTerminals_largempetitive in today’s business environment, your company needs to be flexible and always available. In this around the clock business world, mobility is a must. With NEC’s new Mobile Extension for the UNIVERGE SV8100, now you can be in the office 24/7. AndSoundTel can upgrade you now.

Mobile Extension gives you access to all of the features of your office phone from almost any external communications device, including your mobile phone, home phone or other device, to simulate an extension of your office phone. One number access lets your customers reach you wherever you are and they will never know you’re not at the office.

One-Number Access

With one number access, you can use the same business phone number for both your desktop phone and mobile extension so customers, vendors and business associates need only one number to reach you. This can dramatically decrease amount of time it takes you to respond.

Flexible Call Control

Incoming calls that are not answered by a mobile device can be set to follow internal routing, including to your office voice mail. You can also control who gets through. When you combine Mobile Extension with the SV8100 Call Forward Both Ring feature, both your desk phone and your mobile device ring simultaneously. Unanswered calls to your direct extension can be routed to office voice mail, while internal and transferred calls are not.

Management of Mobile Extension Calls in Progress

Remote Mobile Extension users can access their office phone features on their mobile device even when answering a Mobile Extension call. You can transfer the call, place it on hold or insert the caller into a conference right from the extension.

Access to All Key Desktop Telephone Features

Offsite workers can now manage the features of their office communications systems. With the UNIVERGEMobile Extension, they can access their office telephone-based productivity tools right on their mobile devices.

Mobility Features:

  • Enables mobile user to intercom anyone in the office using that person’s extension number instead of being routed through the receptionist or voice mail system.
  • A mobile user can mask their caller ID as their office number when making external calls.
  • The mobile user can transfer a call to an office extension directly.
  • If a call transferred to a mobile user isn’t answered, the call is sent to the user’s office voice mail instead of mobile voice mail.
  • When a call is sent to a user’s desk phone, the call can be set to ring on the desk phone and the mobile device at the same time.
  • While talking on the office phone a user can transfer the call to their mobile device, allowing the user to leave their office if needed.

nec-monitor-53-resized-600*Mobility requires a SoundTel technician to set up and train the user on the functions.
*Depending on phone system configuration, Mobility may require two phone lines to be in use on the phone system per user.
*Mobility uses 2 ports per user counting towards total phone system port availability and can be upgraded by a port upgrade license. (64 ports, 256 ports, 712 ports)

NEC SV8100 Telephone and Voice Mail System Updates

NEC has recently developed some great updates for your Univerge telephone system platform, including enhancements to all voice mail platforms and desktop suites. Here is just a few of the updates we are most excited about.

System Wide Highlights:

Virtual Extension Enhancement
Caller ID is now available for Virtual Extensions, allowing you to selectively screen calls, avoiding surveys and telemarketers. This enhancement also makes caller-ID appear on LCD for station-to-station calls, external calls and a virtual extension.

USB Backup
Administrators can now back-up programmed data to a USB drive via Webpro. System data can also be uploaded from a USB drive.

Do Not Disturb Enhancement (DND)
DND enables users to activate the Do Not Disturb feature on a phone, ringing or not. Callers will simply hear the user’s customized message and be transferred to voicemail.

Softkey Disable
Management can easily disable the softkey function per station (ie. Breakroom, lobby)
Voice Mail Highlights:

Terminals_largeUM8000 Voice Mail
Mobile Web Mailbox Manager (MWMM)
The MWMM web application is designed to run on a smartphone browser, allowing subscribers to listen to messages and configure their mailbox settings, including the Presence Greetings. Great for mobile employees.

Google Chrome Support
In addition to Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome is now supported for both the Web Administration Console and the Web Mailbox Manager.

Presence Greetings Support
The available subscriber greetings have been expanded to support over 10 Presence
Greetings, allowing the subscriber to provide callers feedback on their status.
Subscribers may use any of the following user interfaces to configure the greeting that callers hear:
• Telephone User Interface (TUI)
• Web Mailbox Manager (WMM)
• Mobile Web Mailbox Manager (MWMM)

Inmail Voice Mail Enhancement
The Answer Table determines how the Automated Attendant answers outside calls on each line, according to the time of the day and day of the week that the call is ringing. The answer table has been increased from 8 to 16.
The Dial Action Table defines the dialing options for the Call Routing Mailbox chosen by the active Answer Table, which in turn provides those dialing options to Automated Attendant callers. The Dial Action Table has been increased from 16 to 32.

Queued Message Notification enables configuration of each voice mailbox to receive new-message notifications at a pre-set time. DT730_24_lg This is useful for companies that commonly receive messages after regular business hours, or a service desk collecting after hour messages that can be delivered at a pre-set time.

Annual NEC SV8100 Updates are Here!

NEC UNIVERGE SV8100 is a solution-rich platform designed to easily embrace new features and technologies. It is scalable and can be expanded in size and features to meet business’ communication needs now and in the future. To make this powerful and efficient telephone system keep up with the latest technology, NEC releases two software updates each year. Within the eight newest features that NEC just announced, SoundTel has highlighted the two that may be the most beneficial to small and medium size businesses.

Update Highlights:

1. Ecology

This new energy saving feature has two new ways to help you save energy on your phone system.

1) Power Cutting: This function is controlled by the Night Mode. The power of the terminals will be turned off when you turn the night mode on.

2) Power Saving: This function darkens the brightness of all Line Key and Feature Key LED’s on the Multiline Terminal. Any key operation or incoming call will end the power saving mode.

Although the phones use very little power, over long periods of time even small power savings add up!

2. DID (Direct Inward Dial) Enhancement

Direct Inward Dial lets outside callers directly dial system extensions. It also has a function to automatically reroute DID calls depending on how it is programmed. This update adds more flexible schedule settings for your DID lines. You will get DID Call by Day of the Week schedule and increased time patterns in which DID calls can be routed.
